Meal times with a toddler can be tough, especially when you have a fussy eater. If I am speaking from my own experience, my challenge with meal time is the actual “time” component – I simply have none. I used to love cooking, but as I am juggling more and more and I am split between working full time, running the #mumlifeproject and trying to be a good mother, wife, friend, and daughter; I frankly find nothing more stressful than that eternal question “what’s for dinner?” I want Emmy to have a healthy balanced diet, I want her to get enough veggies and protein but I’ve found recently, as things get busier, I’ve been getting more take away options on the way home than I’d like to admit.
I’ve been on the hunt for some alternatives on those days I don’t feel like cooking and when Heinz sent me their new range to try; I was excited. I had read that their Little Kids Meals were approved by nutritionists and are steam cooked to lock in the flavours. When the meals arrived, I was impressed to find out that not only were they steam cooked, but they had no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and the meals had at least 2 toddler sized serves of veggies.
These meals couldn’t be more convenient – 40 seconds in the microwave with a quick stir in between and dinner is served. They certainly are a quickand nutritious option and I don’t have the mum guilt associated with not cooking.
It’s hard to find packaged meals that kids actually like, but Emmy can’t get enough of these ones. There hasn’t been a flavour I’ve served up that she hasn’t scoffed down. And that’s the thing isn’t it? If you can find a meal that’s quick and easy, filled with good stuff and your kids love, you’ve struck the jackpot.
Heinz Little Kids meals are the perfect solution for busy parents that don’t want to compromise on quality.
You can buy these meals in store or online from Woolworths.
