While Americans have traditionally have dibs on killer Halloween celebrations, Aussies are catching up. And this year I was determined to give fright night a Hipster Mum makeover ie style it up in a way that’s cool, fun and totally modern.
To start, that meant swapping the pumpkin for a pineapple (DIY video instructions here).
And I knew we’d have a few healthy snacks in with the treats, like home-cooked popcorn (DIY video instructions here).
I also wanted to dress the kids in clothes they actually might wear again – and that’s where my friends Kate and Ashley of @styletheplayground killed it. drawing on their knowledge of rad mama brands tucked away on Instagram, they decked the wee ones out in wicked black, white and super hard-wearing gear.
The final touch? a crew of crazy kids having the time of their lives. Happy Halloween!
